"You are so brilliantly extra." - Laura's therapist.
A Note from the Author.
“I hate drama.” This is a liar’s declaration, a self-proclamation that holds no weight, as those who claim this most certainly do not hate drama, and often create it. I both love and loathe these people. Their lack of self-awareness is cute.
For most of my childhood, I was in costume. My favorite television show was Days of Our Lives. As a teen, I wanted nothing more than to escape to Los Angeles to fulfill my destiny as an “Indie Darling”. In my BFA Acting program, my ability to emotionally connect was always discussed as a beauty and a curse. The amount of times I have sent a 2,000 word, essay-style text message to an ex is appalling. My favorite “feel good” movie is Girl, Interrupted. I talk with my hands and unintentionally speak in accents. The statement I hear most often about me is that I am, “too much".
My theatrical, dramatic nature used to make me self-conscious. I wanted to be liked. I wanted to be loved by the world. I did not want to be an annoyance. But if I’ve learned anything from my years of being “too much”, it's that I can’t hide it. I am who I am.

And I, Laura Jenkins, am dramatic.
A Brief Bio.
Laura Jenkins was born and raised in Arkansas, home of Wal-Mart and the Razorbacks (Woo Pig Sooie). Yes, she wears shoes. No, she is not married to her cousin. Some of her favorite things include Fat Sals, Lagavulin, and bath time (take that however you want). She loathes mini golf and bowling, and the "game" Speak Out. There is no strategy to Speak Out. It's just drool and boredom while people laugh at the victim's lack of tonsils. She will not hike Runyon with you, so stop asking. She has never broken a bone, joined a gym, or brought a significant other home for the holidays, so stop asking.
She's written and performed one woman shows, written a short film and a web series, and auditioned for Glee once. She has no intentions of having an acting career. She has too much pride. She's a writer. A pretentious, but still so humble, writer-baby.
Most importantly, Laura looks really really good in fake blood. She has never killed anyone. Please don't call the cops.
